Kouandjio makes it official, heads to Alabama

It appears Cyrus Kouandjio is headed to Alabama and not Auburn after all. Announcing on Twitter, his brother and current Crimson Tide offensive lineman Arie Kouandjio declared that his brother would be headed to Tuscaloosa to join him.

The news was confirmed by recruiting websites Scout and Rivals. Cyrus later posted on his Facebook page that he would be joining the Tide’s class of 2011 as well.
"I think he was back and forth; it was a tough decision," Kouandjio's coach, Bill McGregor told MaxPreps. "He had one foot in and one foot out. As long as he's happy, I'm happy. He's going to work hard and I'm sure he's going to be very successful."
MaxPrep’s third-ranked player overall and top offensive tackle, Kouandjio announced that he would be attending Auburn in a televised ceremony on Signing Day. Shortly after the announcement however, word came out that his letter of intent was not faxed to the school.
After briefly considering Iowa as a destination, Kouandjio was supposed to select either Auburn or Alabama this weekend and then make an announcement on Monday at his high school.
Nevertheless, the 6-foot-7, 300 pound offensive lineman gives Alabama a major boost in an already impressive class of 2011. The Tide now have nine MaxPreps Top 100 members and should capture the top spot in the MaxPreps’ team recruiting rankings no matter what number one overall player Jadeveon Clowney decides to do.
